Hello, I’m Leanne, an English-Australian artist, maker, designer, and educator. I work across slow fashion sewing, pattern design, ceramics, painting, and textiles. I’m drawn to the tactile joy of working with my hands, shaping materials into pieces that are useful, deeply personal, and infused with story and meaning.

I founded Make Space as a gentle studio for people to step out of the rush and into their inquisitive, creative selves. A place for pressure-free learning, immersive flow, and hands-on making that values process as much as outcome.

After years of moving between countries, roles, and creative disciplines, one truth has stayed constant: making helps me feel present, grounded, and whole. Creativity isn’t reserved for “artists”, it’s a natural human impulse, a way to express emotion, process experience, and communicate both with ourselves and the world around us

Life is busy, and many of us quietly long for space, to pause, reflect, be heard, or simply be. Creative practice can be nourishing and regenerative, helping us restore energy, reconnect with ourselves, and move through daily life with greater intention.

Make Space is my way of sharing this philosophy with my local community: a calm, welcoming, multicultural studio rooted in thoughtful making, shared learning and genuine human connection.

A place where your creativity is given room to grow.
